Number of years of relevant experience: 20+ years
Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with minors in Industrial Psychology and Management

Joe joined Delphia Consulting as Chief Technology Officer in 2002. As CTO, Joe is responsible for using technology to provide better products and services to clients, our infrastructure and IT operations, developing and maintaining software applications, determining how technology will be used to implement the business strategy, and developing the company's future technology direction.

Prior to joining Delphia Consulting, Joe worked in the software design and development field for 16 years. Most recently Joe worked at CSG Systems and Lucent Technologies as a Technical Manager, where he was responsible for designing the user experience for billing and customer care Web applications and managing a cross-location, multi-disciplinary team of human factors engineers, user interface designers, technical writers, prototypers, and visual designers.

Joe’s career path has also seen him managing projects through the software development lifecycle while promoting usability engineering best practices, including user centered design and scenario-based design methodologies.

While a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) at Bell Laboratories, Joe designed and documented two Web user interface look and feel standards used by 43 software products, including internationally deployed operations systems. Joe’s efforts have focused on understanding users’ needs to design solutions that are efficient, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing while being easy to use.

Joe is a recognized leader in web design and development, social media, and e-government initiatives. He consults nationally to help organizations deal with the challenges and opportunities of connecting with their customers, clients, and constituents through their web presence. In addition, Joe is frequently requested to present at conferences throughout the United States, including Microsoft Convergence, APA-Enterprise Worldwide, Association for Accounting Marketing, Society for Human Resource Management, LexisNexis, and National Association of Government Webmasters.

Joe is also the founder and owner of Create & Craft, a retail craft business. Through Create & Craft Joe teaches a variety of paper art and mixed media classes through the United States. Joe’s mom started the family on crafting. As early as he can remember, his mom was crocheting. When she brought home a Brother knitting machine, he was fascinated and soon he was creating designs from christening dresses to ski wear. He dabbled in macramé, string art and latch hooked rugs when they were hot in the 70s. Now, in his mid-forties, Joe has turned his eye to mixed media and paper crafting. He loves detail with 3D work and paper piecing being his specialties. Joe’s work has appeared in Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine. He’s filmed a segment of Crafting at the Spotted Canary with Joy Macdonell that will air on PBS and has won Archiver’s One-of-a-Kind Wall Art contest (Ohio, August 2011).

Additionally, Joe is the Chairperson of the Sage Leadership Academy Alumni Association (SLAAA) and holds Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Joe is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, and Craft and Hobby Association (CHA). Joe is a Brother of Alpha Phi Omega (a national co-ed service fraternity) and a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. With a
