The Craft & Hobby Association’s (CHA) vision is to lead a forward-thinking and vibrant business community where creative arts and hobby professionals can learn, connect, innovate and succeed. The goals are to stimulate a worldwide interest in arts and crafts, and to fuel the growth and future of the creative arts and hobby industry.
CHA wasn’t always CHA. In 2004, the two prominent organizations that served the craft and hobby industry, the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) and the Association of Crafts & Creative Industries (ACCI), joined forces to form a more robust association with a greater purpose. CHA was constructed by the hands of craft and hobby leaders and inventors with decades upon decades of experience. Today, CHA is the global, non-profit trade association for the creative arts and hobby industry, consisting of thousands of member companies engaged in the design, manufacture, distribution, education, and retail sales of arts, crafts and hobby products worldwide.
Among the multitude of resources that CHA offers its members is the annual CHA MEGA Conference & Trade Show. Held in January, this award-winning gathering is the largest and longest running craft and hobby trade show in North America. In addition, CHA provides its members with valuable research on the size of the industry, craft participation by category and trends. Other exclusive member benefits include business webinars, industry news, networking events, chapters and sections, and discounts.
CHA’s powerful traditional and social media communication program generates hundreds of millions of consumer impressions, which drives sales of industry products. As a result, CHA is a credible contact for media on consumer demand for craft and hobby products, the benefits of crafting habits, insights on trends, and more.
CHA also promotes creative pursuits in schools, therapy programs and at home through its CHA Foundation and CRE8TIME initiatives.
