The following is a brief summary of some of the services CHA offers its members:

Horizons A quarterly newsletter covering a wide variety of industry and association news.

Membership Directory Directory of CHA members, affiliate associations, committee and board of director listings.

Nationwide Consumer Measures US household participation in a variety of Survey craft and hobby categories. The benchmark survey was completed in 1988 and conducted every even year since then.

Size of Industry Conducted every odd year, the only comprehensive Survey research available on craft and hobby industry sales as reported by manufacturers, retailers and consumers. The most recent available figures are represented by the 1994/95 survey.

Manufacturer Rep./Certified This directory lists specialty information about three Prof. Demonstrator Service categories of CHA's membership as well as Certified Supplier/Prof. Craft Producer Professional Demonstrators.

Trade Show Directory Distributed to all CHA trade show exhibitors and Buyer's Guide attendees, the directory contains a complete listing of exhibitor manufacturers and a cross-referenced buyer's guide, along with a list of member wholesalers by geographic region.

Government Updates Updates on topics of industry-wide concern.

Traffic Bulletin Offers information and timely tips on how to professionally manage your shipping and receiving, including overseas.

The Public Relations Handbook A how-to guide to help retailers generate media coverage Handbook and build community relationships through the use of effective public relations strategies.

Government Oversight When pending legislation poses a threat to the well-being of the industry, CHA and its legal team is there to take up the battle on its members behalf.

Traffic Program This program offers professional, personalized freight and transportation advice, as well as discounts on shipping.

Consumer Outreach A variety of programs designed to help promote crafts & hobbies nationwide, such as sponsoring a craft area at consumer shows for senior citizens and a comprehensive public relations effort via the Craft & Hobby Information Bureau.

National Craft Month (NCM) Celebrated annually in March, NCM is an industry-wide promotional program designed to create a greater awareness of crafts and crafting, and the benefits derived from those activities. The event is celebrated by consumers and the industry alike, with promotions taking place on local, state and national levels.

Retailer's University The benchmark for retailer education in the craft and hobby Certificate Program industry. This is a comprehensive series of courses leading and Continuing up to industry-wide recognition and a certificate.

Education Programs

123 UPC Three step-by-step guides (retailer, wholesaler and manufacturer) to UPC codes, custom designed for the craft and hobby industry.

The Generic Product An exclusive hands-on opportunity to work with products Workshop from dozens of member manufacturers. The four-and-a- half hour workshops include promotional, display and marketing ideas.

Certified Professional A training and professional certification program attest Demonstrator/Certified to the professionalism of craft persons who work as Professional Teacher demonstrators or "make-it; take-it" personnel.

Programs

Section Business Meetings Held in pre-trade show hours, they provide opportunities Intra-Council Meetings for individual member segments to share their views and learn from members and speakers. The Intra-Council Meetings include council members from all sections and are a forum for sharing information, ideas and objectives.
