CRAFT & HOBBY ASSOCIATION POST-SHOW REPORT CREATE-N-CONNECT, 2013

Elmwood Park, NJ, USA; August 08, 2013 —Elmwood Park, NJ, USA August 7, 2013 — The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Create-n-Connect Conference & Trade Show was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, July 22-25, 2013. Create-n-Connect hosted 155 exhibiting companies filling 47,030 net square feet of exhibit space. The Show attracted 1,857 attendees representing over 545 buying companies from 46 states and 40 countries. 17% percent of Show attendees were internationally based with the greatest number coming from Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico and Germany.

The CHA Create-n-Connect Conference & Tradeshow also launched a New Products Preview Program with the goal of expanding national consumer exposure to CHA members. These efforts have, so far, generated over 10,000,000 impressions through television, radio and online media publications.

“Our members are working hard to spread the word about the benefits and joys of crafting. They are creating products, projects and programs to break down the walls of intimidation that sometimes surround crafting activities. All of the media outreach and interest we’re experiencing is extremely exciting for our industry as a whole and we will continue to be a strong voice and platform for our members,” said Kerri Wickersheim, VP Marketing & Communications, CHA

The CHA 2014 Conference & Tradeshow in Anaheim, CA, January 10-14, will showcase new features such as an enhanced new exhibitor section, VIP buyer programs, a bead and jewelry pavilion, a celebrity speaker series, and product and business education sessions right on the show floor. Enhanced, targeted hands-on workshops and business sessions will be featured during the conference as well. There will be a strong focus on what’s new and innovative in the industry, as well as a CHA Foundation Gala supporting the CRE8TIME movement.

In 2014, CHA is also working toward launching a series of regional Creative Conferences which will be made up of industry education, networking and business events, as well as programs that are being developed by our amazing volunteer leaders of our Chapters and Sections.

Sue Turchick, VP of Membership for CHA, stated, “These efforts to build up and support our member base and grow our industry as a whole are an exciting mission to be a part of and our entire CHA team is committed to this journey!”
“We look forward to working with members of the Association as we move forward and develop opportunities to grow their businesses, increase the awareness of our industry, and make a positive difference in the world” said Andrej Suskavcevic, President and CEO, CHA.
