The Craft & Hobby Association is an international, not-for-profit trade association focused on developing the craft and creative industries across the U.S. and the world. CHA’s members form an influential network of manufacturers, publishers, service providers, retailers, designers and other creative professionals.

  • JOIN ONLINE - Submit an online application to join the Craft & Hobby Association.

    We also accept applications by email, fax and mail. Please click the links below to download an application to print or submit digitally by email.

  • SUPPLIERS - Companies whose principal business is supplying craft, hobby and creative merchandise through manufacturing, publishing, distributing or providing services to creative industry companies.

  • BUYERS - Companies whose business is purchasing craft, hobby and creative merchandise for resale to the consumer. This category includes brick and mortar store-front retailers, online, catalog, TV, and media retailers and institutional buyers such as retreats, camps and military base craft centers.
  • DESIGNERS - An individual or firm that conceives, invents, creates or executes decorative crafts or artistic work for licensing or for sale to members of the creative arts industry.
  • MAKER/DIYer - A professional maker/DIYer/crafter with a home-based creative arts industry business that creates finished products or handmade/one-of-a-kind items, gifts or collectibles are produced and sold on consignment, through special orders, at regional craft shows, or via an e-commerce website.
  • EDUCATOR/DEMONSTRATOR - An educator/demonstrator for a store, studio, private/public school or other educational institution; conducts classes which use products from the creative arts industry; is directly involved in instructing students in using craft materials, products and supplies as part of their education and does not have any buying authority from their employer.
  • BLOGGER/PINNER - Bloggers/Pinners post original, creative arts industry related news at least once per week to their blog. Or are paid to pin on behalf of a creative arts industry company. Their content extends beyond newsletters, forums and/or personal diaries. CHA Bloggers must be in existence for at least six months and have more than 1,000 page views per month.
  • MANUFACTURER REPRESENTATIVE - An individual sales agent or a sales agent firm that represents and sells products offered by current CHA supplier and distributor members; is paid by commission by their clients; and calls on wholesale and retail accounts within the creative arts industry; and does not manufacture products or carry inventory of the products they sell or represent.
  • EMERITUS MEMBERSHIP – Recognizes and includes those who have served CHA and the creative arts industry and are now partially or fully retired, providing an opportunity for continued friendship and service.
  • NEW START-UP MEMBERSHIPS - For companies that have been in business for less than two years; have annual sales under $100,000; and not have been a CHA member within the past two years. The Start-up category is available for no more than two consecutive years. 
    • START-UP BUYER - Companies must have an online or storefront creative arts industry retail business that has been in business for less than two years; have annual sales under $100,000; and not have been a CHA member within the past two years. 
    • START-UP SUPPLIER - Companies must be in development of a creative arts industry product, service or application that has been introduced into the market within the last year or will be within the next year; have been in business for less than two years; have annual sales under $100,000; and not have been a CHA member within the past two years. 
    • START-UP MAKER/DIYer - To qualify for this membership companies must be in development of a creative arts industry product, service or application that has been introduced into the market within the last year or will be within the next year; have been in business for less than two years; have annual sales under $100,000; and not have been a CHA member within the past two years.
